Equipment: What You Need To Bring

Clothing
  • Dress in layers prepared for changeable mountain weather, ranging from sunny and hot to windy, wet, and cool.  (shorts & Capilene shirt to fleece top and bottom)
  • Rain/Wind Jacket with Hood (Gore-Tex, etc. or coated nylon)
  • Rain/Wind Pants
Personal Items
  • Day Pack
  • Sunglasses, Sunscreen, and Lip Balm
  • Light Gloves-fleece or wool, Sun Hat, Ski Hat
  • Ski/Trekking Poles (optional)
  • 2 water bottles (approximately 1 liter capacity)
  • headlamp/flashlight (include extra bulb/batteries)
  • bandana
  • ziplock bags
  • pocketknife
  • lighter/matches
  • personal first aid kit
  • personal items for overnight camping
Footwear
  • hiking boots or sturdy hiking shoes (preferably broken-in)
  • wool socks
  • liner socks
Camping
  • sleeping bag & pad
Please advise if you need a sleeping bag and pad.

Sawtooth Adventure, August 13 & 14, 2010

 
Climb (non-technical route) of the Elephant's Perch a 2,400 vertical gain and 5 mile round trip from the Canyon Camp.  This group will leave on Friday and will be led by Sawtooth Mountain Guides.  Space is limited on this overnight adventure so register soon.  Cost per climber is $350 - with an additional fundraising goal of $2,500. (A portion of cost has already been underwritten.)

Take-A-Hike-  this group will leave Saturday morning for a beautiful 6-mile day hike up Fishhook Creek.  Team up with your friends to hike and have lunch at the beach!  Cost per hiker is $25 and the fundraising goal is $250.  (A portion of cost has been generously underwritten.)

These outdoor adventures will give you the opportunity to raise money for breast cancer research and enjoy the splendor of the majestic Sawtooth Mountain Range!
