| Summer Inspiration Climb - Devil's Bedstead Itinerary
Devil’s Bedstead (11,865’) North East Ridge:
The Devil’s Bedstead is one of the most spectacular peaks in the Pioneer Range. Tom Lopez, author of Idaho, a Climber Guide, calls the Northeast Ridge one of the ten best routes in Idaho!
We’ll start the climb from the Kane Creek TH, which is about 1:15 from Ketchum via Trail Creek Summit. After crossing Kane Creek the route follows an old mining road to 7800 feet. At this point we head off trail into the valley that drains the north face of the Bedstead. We’ll work our way into the valley following a steep climbers trail through Douglas Fir Forest. At 9400 feet we’ll start to move through tree line and continue to the prominent saddle (10,600) on the lower NE Ridge that divides Boulder Creek from Kane Creek. Once at the saddle we’ll put on harnesses and pair down to two climbers per guide for the technical scrambling on the upper NE ridge. From the saddle it should take about 1.5 hours to reach the summit.
For the descent it is possible to take a slightly less technical route adjacent to the NE Ridge.

7:00am Depart TH and begin approach hike
