Los Angeles – The Expedition Inspiration Fund for Breast Cancer Research hosted “Cure at the Rock,” a much anticipated and highly successful concert event at the Hard Rock Cafe, Universal CityWalk, raising close to $35,000.  Money raised will benefit both Expedition Inspiration and USC/Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center Celebrity.
Dee Wallace hosted the event, which featured with performances from Taylor Dayne, The Donnas, Gretchen Bonaduce and The All-American Rejects. “Cure at the Rock” wrapped up The Hard Rock’s Pinktober month, 31 days of celebrating life and spreading awareness about advances in breast cancer research.  Adding to the evening were appearances from actors Adrianne Curry and Christopher Knight.
The Expedition Inspiration Fund for Breast Cancer Research works tirelessly to raise monies for targeted breast cancer research as well as funds for public education and patient support.  This event will directly benefit research currently being done by Michael Press, MD, and PhD at the USC/Norris Cancer Center.
The organization was built as a tribute to the courage and determination of breast cancer survivors.  Honoring the memory of both men and women who have lost their battle, Expedition Inspiration brings hope and light to a disease that affects 1 in every 8 Americans.  Organized and sponsored events like “Cure at the Rock” help promote the physical and mental well being of breast cancer survivors and call attention to the breast cancer epidemic and the urgent need to find a cure.
Expedition Inspiration has raised several million dollars since it began.  Acting Executive Director Katie Powell, says, “I’m so happy to be involved with a charity that cares so much and works so diligently on this issue that really affects us all.”
Teri Roseman, LA Events Chair and Member of the Board of Directors says, "I've volunteered with this organization since 1996 and feel strongly about working with an organization where I know where the funds are going - to research and support of dialogue between clinicians and researchers all working together to find a cure."

Gretchen Bonaduce: Get ready for a dose of ’80s New Wave punk when Gretchen Bonaduce and her band Ankhesenamen rock at the benefit event “Cure at the Rock”. Ms. Bonaduce has always loved music and had been singing all of her life before she met and married former child star Danny Bonaduce, with which she has two children, and gained some fame in VH1’s reality TV hit, Breaking Bonaduce.  She is not only busy with Ankhesenamen (named after the wife of King Tut), but also sings with another Los Angeles band, Muddflaps. And then there’s a rock ‘n’ roll clothing line and a designer perfume to develop and promote, and plenty of reality programming to develop – to say the least she is busy.

The Donnas: Fans of female hard rock group The Donnas can count on something old, something new, but definitely rocking when the quartet performs at “Cure at The Rock”. Torry Castellano, who drives the beat as The Donnas’ drummer, explained that the group will be well-practiced in some of their classics, because of a fan concert they’ll play in Joshua Tree in late September. “Right now we’re talking about some new songs for ‘Cure at The Rock,’ maybe from our new record (Bitchin’ on The Donnas own label, Purple Feather Records), a set of really old songs like those we’ve never played in concert but we’ve always loved,” Castellano said during a phone interview.
“We’re definitely going to be leaving them dripping in sweat and asking for more. We go out there and give high-energy, head-banging rock,” Castellano assured.

Taylor Dayne: The most recent product for the sultry songstress is Satisfied, her first studio release in 10 years, on her own Intention Music label, distributed by Warner Music Group's Adrenaline/ADA. Though fans attending “Cure at the Rock,” will probably hear Dayne’s hits Tell It to My Heart, I'll Always Love You, and Love Will Lead You Back, there will also be chart-toppers from Satisfied, includingthe first single Beautiful. “For gals like us (The Donnas, Bonaduce), an event like this gives us a chance to get in there – it’s personal for all of us, fighting cancer, and there’s a passion, too,” she said.

The All-American Rejects, were formed when Tyson Ritter (vocals/bass) and Nick Wheeler (guitars/ backing vocals) were teenagers in Stillwater, OK. Ritter and Wheeler, who were subsequently joined by guitarist Mike Kennerty, and drummer Chris Gaylor, toured the world in support of the chart-topping success of their debut eponymous cd released on DreamWorks Records in February 2003. Their critically acclaimed, double platinum sophomore release, Move Along, reigned on the Billboard 200 chart for nearly 100 weeks, entering at #6 and spinning off three Top 10 singles and videos for “Dirty Little Secret,” “Move Along,” and “It Ends Tonight.” The All-American Rejects will release their highly anticipated third cd, When The World Comes Down, on December 16th. The first single is “Gives You Hell.” Says Ritter of the new album, “It’s what we were put on this earth to create.”
