Board of Directors
Expedition Inspiration's Board of Directors recently elected a new slate of officers. Richard Parrish steps up as Chairman of the Board. He retired in 1999 from Boise-Cascade Corporation as Senior Vice President of the Building Products Division. He has been a member of the EI team on Mt. Kilimanjaro (19,340') and Mt. Whitney (14,497'). Dick's managerial expertise and climbing experience will be an asset to EI. Heidi Mickelson was elected Vice-Chair, Kathy Jones, Secretary, and Robert Kaplan continues to serve as Treasurer.
EI is pleased to welcome two new members to our Board. Julie Kilgrow recently moved back to Boise, ID after 9 years as President and CEO of the United Way of the Greater Salt Lake Area. Her vast experience in fund raising will surely be an asset to our future growth. Bend, OR, has also been elected to the Board of Directors. She is the Executive Director of the Central Oregon Partnership. Nancy was a member of the original Aconcagua team and successfully summitted the 22,841' peak in 1995 with Expedition Inspiration. Both her professional and mountaineering skills will benefit our organization. Expedition Inspiration thanks you both for your willingness to get involved.
We also want to thank "retiring" Board members, Carol Harlig and
Deborah Van Dyke King. Harlig served on the Board for five years and was an
integral part of our organization, and contributed a great deal to the success of our "First Annual Jazz Under The Stars" fundraiser. Van Dyke King has been a part of the EI team for many years, participating in both our Mt. Kilimanjaro climb and most recently, The Laura Evans Memorial Climb on Mt. Rainier in July, 2000. Thank you, Carol and Debby, for continuing to support Expedition Inspiration.

Take-A-Hike
The day couldn't have been more perfect when over 125 hikers climbed up Table Rock at the Sixth Annual Boise Take-A-Hike, on October 6th at Quarry View Park to benefit St. Luke's Mountain States Tumor Institute's Research Department. Serving as Honorary Chairs of the event were Anita Kissee, of NBC's News Channel 7, and breast cancer survivor, Suzanne Locklear of Suzanne's Sensational Foods, which donates a portion of its sales to breast cancer research.
Many of St. Luke's
doctors and administrators attended the event that was chaired again by Board Member, Laurie Barrera.
Thank you all!
