Two teams of hardy adventurers successfully summitted Thompson Peak, at 10,776 feet, the highest in Idaho's Sawtooth Range. Nineteen climbers fought winter conditions - high winds, snow and rain to reach the summit on Tuesday, August 24, 2004. This fundraising climb empowered and promoted the health and well-being of all who participated. The teams included breast cancer survivors, friends and families of those who are fighting the battle. Climbers raised funds to help support cutting-edge breast cancer research projects. $30,000. was raised on the Thompson Peak Climb. Special thanks to the Kapp Family, Maverick Capital Charities, Ltd., and The Diane Warren Foundation for their continued support of Expedition Inspiration. Sawtooth Mountain Guides once again provided stellar leadership, expertise and words of encouragement through the less than ideal conditions.
The Annual Michele Ann Potkin Memorial Climb

Hyndman Peak, August 20
Expedition Inspiration is pleased to offer the next climb of our Five Peaks in
Five Years series. Hyndman Peak, at 12,009 feet, is the highest peak in Idaho's high and beautiful Pioneer Mountain Range. The scenic views are spectacular; the lakes pristine. The route will take our team on the east ridge trail. We will trek through aspens and meadows along Hyndman Creek. Cobb Peak will appear in the distance. There will be a few scrambles up sage brush covered hills.
The team will enter the expansive Hyndman Basin and take in the sight of Hyndman Peak, our ultimate goal. We will scramble across this large basin, towards the saddle between Hyndman and Old Hyndman Peaks. The climbers will reach a knife-edged ridge, which offers amazing views of Wildhorse Canyon, 4,000 feet below. We will follow the ridge to the summit ofHyndman Peak. From our 12,009' standpoint, the team will take in breathtaking views of Old Hyndman, Cobb, Standhope Peak, Mt. Baldy, near Sun Valley, and on a clear day, views of Mt. Borah and the Lost River Range. Quite a reward for our hard day of climbing! The route is approximately six miles each way and rises some 5,000 feet in elevation.
