Sun Valley Inn

The Expedition Inspiration Annual Symposium is truly a meeting of the greatest minds in breast cancer research — the ‘rock stars’ of the field. It is a powerful event because of its singular focus on sharing ideas to move the field forward. There is nothing quite like it, and it exists because of Expedition Inspiration’s mission and supporters.

The Keeping Abreast Open Forum is the public arm of this private, four-day conference. The Keeping Abreast Open Forum is a FREE event for the community to hear firsthand updates and interact with the Symposium attendees. The Keeping Abreast Open Forum will take place Thursday, March 8, 2018 in the Continental Room of the Sun Valley Inn at 6:30 PM. Dr. Marc Lippman from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine will moderate the evening. Featured speakers include Dr. Pepper Schedin from Oregon Health and Science University of School of Medicine, Dr. Firdaus Dhabar from Stanford School of Medicine and Dr. Erin Cobain from University of Michigan.

The Symposium attendees will offer insight into their area of expertise followed by a “question and answer” session, where community attendees can ask questions of these renowned medical experts.  This is a rare opportunity to learn from the top researchers in the world, commonly discussed topics include targeted therapies, clinical trials, treatment updates, alternative therapies, estrogen replacement and proactive measures.

Expedition Inspiration will also present its 2017 Young Investigator Award recipient at the Open Forum. Dr. Erin Cobain who conducts her research at the University of Michigan. Dr. Cobain says of the funding, “I am truly honored to have been selected as a recipientof the Expedition Inspiration Young Investigator Award. e support from this award will go toward a project which aims to better understand genomic differences between pre- and post-chemotherapy treatment specimens from patients with triple negative breast cancer.”

For those who can’t attend in person, the Open Forum will be live-streamed on Expedition Inspiration’s YouTube channel (BreastCancerEI, “2018 Keeping Abreast Open Forum”) giving the masses access to this critical information.
