Castle Peak Teams raise record funds while conquering remote Idaho peak in the battle against breast cancer!

Two teams of 25 adventurers successfully summitted Castle Peak, at 11,815 feet, the highest in Idaho’s isolated White Cloud Mountain Range, and raised a record $81,000 to support breast cancer research. The teams included breast cancer survivors and friends and hailed from eight states. Expedition Inspiration Board Members - Heidi Mickelson and Stephanie Olson, Ketchum, ID and Nancy Knoble of Enterprise, OR, Medical Advisory Board Member - Kathleen Grant, M.D. of San Francisco and Advisory Board Member - Courtney Kapp of Philadelphia were all team members. Tribute flags, honoring those who have battled breast cancer were flown from the summit of the mountain.

Special thanks to the Kapp and Crenshaw families and friends who have made the Five Peaks in Five Years an annual tradition! Thank you to ALL of the team members who “climb for a cure.” Additional thanks to photographers, Joshua Wells and Matt Leidecker, both of Ketchum, who documented the two-day climb beautifully. Sawtooth Mountain Guides was instrumental in the successful ascent of Castle Peak, as they safely and skillfully led our teams to the summit of this rugged mountain. Our teams were hosted by Pioneer Outfitters in their spectacular Chamberlain Basin Camp the night prior to hiking to the summit. THANK YOU to The Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch, the Kapp and Singer families for hosting the Celebration Dinner. It was a wonderful outdoor adventure for all involved!

Mark your calendars for the finale in the “Five Peaks in Five Years” series, as our teams continue to conquer the highest peaks in Idaho’s spectacular mountain ranges. Expedition Inspiration will lead a team of climbers up Borah Peak, at 12,668’, the highest point in Idaho, in August 2008.
